GM Lower Timing Gear Retainer (I4, I5, I6) 2007 and newer Cooper SThis tool is required to help keep the lower timing gear tensioner stationary while the cylinder head is removed from the I4, I5, I6 engines. If this tool is not used it will cause the lower timing gear tensioner to extend necessitating the need to disassemble the lower part of the engine which increases the labor time by 12. 8 hours for cylinder head repair.
